Did anyone catch this last night? It is a new police drama (yes another one) about a female cop who is investigating the death of Philip Glenister, a haulier/drug trafficker to whom she is connected.
I thought it was odd to schedule this the day after Paranoid, a police drama! In the same time slot. It is set in Brighton but is not as cosy as the one there the BBC dropped. It seems far more promising than Paranoid and also features Amanda Burton and Thomas from Downton.

I came across this by chance. Yet another unbelievable detective sergeant but an interesting compromising situation she's in. I imagine we'll see more of Philip Glenister in flashback scenes – too good a name to lose after only a few minutes, though it wouldn't be the first series to bump off a major character so soon.
Had to laugh when the frightened customs officer asked Nancy to meet her on the cliff top! Doesn't she watch TV? I didn't watch Paranoid but i did watch Marcella and so far this isn't as daft as that was.

Yes, the cliff top location....something of a basic error there! The bang did make me shriek though, luckily not whilst I was holding my glass of wine.

I quite liked this - particularly Thomas from Downton, who is maturing quite nicely!
This meeting in dangerous places, or entering a location which leaves you vulnerable when on your own, with a blithe disregard for danger, is getting a bit boring. We had Annie in Banks this week walking to her death without a thought, the German detective in Paranoid going into a deserted house to look for a suspect ..... alone and at night. Are they really that thick? I'm not in law enforcement, but I wouldn't go swanning around at night in dark places on my own, or arrange to meeting someone at night, on my own, in a place which left me vulnerable.
Other than that, enough to get me interested, and I shall be watching next week. Agree Philip Glenister can't disappear that quickly. Hope not, as I enjoy watching him.

I'm watching this for Thomas (Rob James-Collier) as well ;-)

Saw Rob being interviewed on tv last week. Had to look up who he played in Downton as it wasn't obvious. He looks so different to Thomas!

He was on Chatty Man with a couple of other Downtonites once and he came over really well. The liveliest of the bunch, very warm and funny. Wasn't he a big name on Corrie some years ago?

I started to watch this as I lived in Brighton for 15 yrs so am interested in seeing the locations used for filming. However, I gave up on it pretty quickly for the reason you give, Maxi.

Yes his name was Liam. And his charactef is the same in this as in the soap. I haven't watched Downton so don't know if he can do other characters

I haven't really been enjoying this as none of the characters is remotely likeable and the leading character, with her disappearing gunshot wound, is not credible. Still, I've been keeping up with it but tonight it clashes with the final episode of The Fall, which is much more compelling, so I'll record and then hopefully have the resolve to watch later.

It isn't bad but I think the lead actress is less than credible as a police sergeant! Apart from the gunshot wound, how anyone has failed to notice her suspicious behaviour, the hunted looks, the furtive activity is beyond me! Her performance is certainly less than subtle.

Well, I'm glad that's over. I'll be very surprised if it's recommissioned even though they were clearly leaving avenues open. Hayley as an undercover agent, indeed!
I thought Joe Absolom was very good as the villain – believably menacing. I've only seen him in recent years in Doc Martin, though I see from his IMDB entry that he was Toby Stephens' little brother in The Tenant of Wildfell Hall back in 1996 and has been quite busy since then.

Certainly sounds (with all the loose ends) like they plan another series.
