Yes. We haven't had the full details yet but... {SPOILER:Click to Show}He dies in a house fire when the triplets are about 17. I know he is in fact a popular character but I find him sly and manipulative! The only nice character to me is Miguel and everyone seems to loathe him! !!

I missed the first series and I like Ken Olin things, it’s available on more4 but it costs £25 and only the last few of series two are still on there so I’m afraid I can’t watch it.

Series 1 is free on Amazon Prime but you have to pay for series 2. As you say, the All4 iplayer app has deleted series 2 episodes 1-4, only 5-8 are still there.

So I can watch it on Amazon prime? That’s what I’ll do then, shame about series 2 although maybe eventually that’ll be on Amazon too. Thanks for that Marion.

Recently there's been Brothers and Sisters then Parenthood and now This Is Us is taking over that type of family drama series.
I missed the first episode long ago and never got into it, although I did like B&S and Parenthood so maybe I should give it a try.

I’m still watching B&S and loving it, I have about three more episodes of the last series to watch. I shall miss the Walker family! Didn’t see Parenthood was it any good?

I enjoyed it. It has Craig T Nelson as the father and his wife who live in Berkley, CA and follows their 4 adult children, played by Peter Krause (currently in 9-1-1 on Witness), Lauren Graham (Gilmore Girls) Erika Christensen and Dax Shepard, and their families, with various guest spots from Ray Romano, Jason Ritter etc.
It's supposed to be loosely based on the movie with Ron Howard ex-producing. It didn't get great viewing figures in America but still ran for, I think, 6 seasons. It's worth a try if you enjoyed Brothers and Sisters.

Anyone waiting for season 3 of This Is Us to start on More4 (expected this summer) can be heartened by the news it's been renewed for three (!) more seasons of 18 episodes each. So it'll be around until 2022 at least.

More 4 has apparently ditched this show so I have been watching series 3 on Amazon. They are such a dreadful bunch of people! So totally up themselves it beggars belief. If anyone wants to know the major plot development this series I have added a spoiler in case I ruin anyone's viewing. Mind you I still have two episodes to go so there may be more. Jack's brother didnt die in Vietnam. He is an alcoholic living in a trailer in the US.
Kate had a baby at 28 weeks. She called him Jack! Of course. He is blind.
Kevin fell off the wagon.
Randall became a councilman for a town he doesnt live in and Beth became a dance teacher with no qualifications or background checks, or so it seemed to me.

Not only is season 4 included with Amazon Prime, but so also is season 5 (2 episodes so far, third one shortly). I'm watching.

I've never seen this show, its not my kinda thing. The adverts I see during the football put me off.
But reading your brilliant discussion of it I feel like a fell in a vat of candy floss (cotton candy as we call it.) Covered in a sticky, icky, stale, artificial sweet coating.
I dont like shows where upper middle-class suburbanites sit around whinging about themselves. And its unsettling that these type of shows are so popular with viewers who are so completely emotionally invested in tuning in every week to give an outpouring of sympathy for them.
Surely the characters in the show wouldn't give a toss about the lives of the viewers if the shoe were on the other foot.

I must get round to wallowing through series 4 soon then or it may vanish off the platform.
Beth featured in the film A Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood which I saw last week.

I didn't expect to like it but I got hooked! Yup, it is rather sickly, though Bad Things do happen (or have happened - there's a lot of flashbacks throughout). Some characters can be quite annoying, also the tinkling music that accompanies long stretches of it, but I have to keep watching to see what happens - which mostly is not very much, with the occasional bombshell.

Probably won't because Amazon seem to have invested in it, all previous 4 seasons are included with Amazon prime and they're claiming S5 as an "Amazon Exclusive".
