The French drama/supernatural thriller, The Returned, first shown on Channel 4, is now available on Netflix, with series 2 in a couple of weeks! I really enjoyed it first time round (have only watched series 1). It has subtitles.

I cancelled my Netflix subscription when I got the Now TV box as we weren't using sufficiently to warrant paying out more money!

We're watching 'iZombie' on NetFlix, after I caught sight of it on IMDB. Great show, in the Whedon tradition, and just started Season 2 now.

(helps to have watched the first series again, for a recap). Have been reading the Guardian blog and comments from October last year, when it was first shown on More4.

I binge-watched half of Sense8 yesterday while I was sewing. It's ... well, it's a very interesting premise. Must have cost a fortune to make as they filmed all over the world. Good actors. Good script most of the time. But it has no plot. It's like the writer had this great idea but no story to go with it. I'll stick with it for now cos there's enough to keep me interested but I hope some sort of story turns up soon.

It didn't real grip me, I'm afraid, but then I will often watch one or two episodes of something, and not return to it.

The usual Saturday night trawl through Netflix/Amazon Prime to watch a film ... nothing much on really. Brooklyn is on Netflix on 8th August, that's pretty good. I watched a bit of Jersey Boys, but found it a bit dull. The Tenant, directed by Roman Polanski (1975, plenty of decor and fashion from the period, plus Isabelle Adjani looks amazing), is on, but it's pretty terrible - not a patch on Rosemary's Baby, or Repulsion.

I've started watched Netflix's latest offering, Stranger Things. It's really good! - set in the Eighties, but convincingly so, and with a sort of Alien/X Files theme. I might actually watch all of it (eight episodes).

I did see that on there but wasn't sure. I might give it a go then.

I'm just working my way through Person of Interest, but Stranger Things is next on the list.
