Oh! I wondered how come so many of the actors were missing! Totally confused me. Honestly, if you are going to show it, just show it all! And pressure from who?

They're saying that there's demand for the later episodes and that these are the fans favourites. But if they've never been given anything else of course they'll be. But there is no no demand it's just an excuse because apparently they don't have the rights to the episodes they're missing. When they advertised the show they issued a press release stating they were showing every episode from the start, all 2000+. I'd assume they'd make sure they had the rights to show them before advertising it. And if they've brought the rights they wouldn't not show them because that's be a waste of money. I don't think they had the rights to those early years (series 5-14) and are using demand from fans for later series as an excuse. Liars!!!!

I don't think it's cause of that because any actor that's in it now is already showing and any actors in series 5+ probably won't be there in the later series, so Loxton, Stringer, Maitland etc. They're starting series 14 from where it changes from 30min to 1hr episodes and these are the ones that have already been shown so have also already been edited for time and content. Someone said they've heard from a worker at Drama that they didn't have the rights to it and using viewer demand as an excuse. The messages on Twitter are all "how dare you", "I'm appalled" etc, surely if there was viewer demand there's been even more tweets the other way saying how they love the news.
I've never understood how an actor can block a tv show. Surely they've been paid for the job and the episodes belong to the production company to sell and show where they please. Maybe the old contracts didn't account for multi channel and on-demand etc, but I'd think today with DVD sales etc the companies would want to cover all bases in regard to the actors music....theres a US sitcom called Murphy Brown which ran for 10 seasons in America, which is a long time, the same as Friends, and won a few Emmys, but they've only ever brought the 1st season out on DVD, and I think it's due to the music rights. Every episode uses multiple Motown songs and maybe they can't get the rights or it's too expensive.

The series about cold cases has the same problem. A lot of music in it that means it's too expensive to bring it out on DVD.

That's what I don't get though. If it's an old show from years ago, before DVD was a thing I can understand them not thinking about music and rights, so problems like with Murphy Brown pop up. But any new show I'd assume they'd get the rights to use at broadcast but also for any future DVD release so they're covered, and then if they can't get the rights to a song they want, maybe change the song to one they can get the rights too, if they did it right at the start of the process surely there wouldn't be a problem later on?

10 series (well 10 and a half as they've started series 14 at episode 89!) have gone missing. Drama can't seem to make up their mind if it's because of viewer demand for theses newer episodes, which was their orginally statement, but they've since said it's due to low rating's on the episodes that have been shown, so series 1-4. Which makes no sense whatsoever. Because if there really was viewer demand for series 14 onwards they're be loads of messages on facebook and twitter praising the decision and congratulating them on the move, but there isn't, all the messages are people who are really p**sed off and saying they won't be watching again. And if it's low viewing figures why do they show it 3 times, why not show it at midday and midnight and leave the 7am showing. And I'd be interesting to see what the viewing figures are for the new episodes, as every message I've read is saying they aren't watching the newer episodes because they've already been shown twice before and people where looking forward to the episodes that haven't been repeated in years. Drama have even told someone of FB to buys the DVD's off Amazon! One: they're expensive. Two: you can't get the episodes past half way thorugh series 6, that's why people are so annoyed because, personally I wanted to see series 7, and you can't get those. Network only brought out unto Vol 8, which is half way through series 6 and Shock, which released them in Australia, brought them all out but they're out of print so you can't buy those anymore either. It's so annoying, especially when they said they'd be showing them from the start.
