OMG! This series gets better and better.😃
Spoilers for Thursday episode...
There have been so many references to the early series. Not so much that a new fan would be out of the loop but a knowing nod to people who've been there from the start. We've had Talkie Toaster from 'White Hole', and last week it ended with Lister having to remember his past and we saw him walking through the corridor humming, just like the 1st every episode, 'The End'. And now in 'Skipper' they have Rimmer dressed in his original uniform, the beige shirt and trousers with the tie and Second Technician name badge, instead of the green, blue and red hologram outfits. Holly's back. Unchanged🤗. And, and, then they do a reverse of the famous speech between Holly and Lister "They're all dead. Everybody's dead. Everybody is dead, Dave." But this time between Holly and Rimmer with them being alive "Gordan Bennent. Lister, Petersen. Nobody. Nobody's dead. Nobody is dead, Arnold." Hollisters in it too! Mr Rat instead of Mr Cat.😂It cracks me up the way he sits at the table and hits the ging with his tail. And they use the old bunk room. I loved the audience going "arhhh". I felt the same. This series has been so nostalgic.

UKTV channel has commissioned a feature-length special of the hit sci-fi comedy series to air in 2020.
The special, which is set up at Baby Cow Productions, is being written and directed by series co-creator Doug Naylor.
Craig Charles, Chris Barrie, Danny John-Jules and Robert Llewellyn are all on-board to reprise their roles as Lister, Rimmer, The Cat and Kryten. It will be filmed on location and at Pinewood in front of a live studio audience.
“I’m really excited to get back on board with the boys from the Dwarf”, Craig Charles said in a statement. “I can’t wait to discuss Robert’s prostate problems, Chris Barrie’s hip replacement and have a proper look at Danny’s new dentures whilst they marvel at the agelessness of the Charles physique. I will surely require the services of a chiropractor after dragging these doddering misfits through what promises to be our most epic adventure yet.”

Unless there is a lot of stuff that has finished filming, and is now in the editing process, I think there will be little in the way of new programming for the foreseeable.

SO many laughs - the laser pen, beloved of all felines. The boss relaxing, pushing things on to the floor. The cat flap door.
Cat making a puffa jacket out of the parachute - "and mittens!"
Rimmer's upgrade!
Space core directives - nudists should be careful peeling carrots.
Wiping Kryton's memory - repeatedly.
The BBC should re-show the series they made in these trying times when we need a laugh.

We watched it too. On the rerun, won't repeat what OH said when he realised we had missed the first run! Not that it mattered ... It will come on sell through and I will have to complete the series ... Have all the series, rescuing them from godson who borrowed them and kept forgetting to return them!
Real outloud laugh moments, not much can do that to me, or keep me off the PC. Will have to dust off the first series again I had almost forgotten how good it was.

Bit late, but only just seen this in the paper. At 9pm there's a Red Dwarf programme on about the start of the show and how it came to be. It's also followed by 2 episodes from the 1sr series. There's also 3 episodes from Series 2 later on at 1:40am, including Statis Leak and Kryten, with the original British Kryten before he crashed and became Canadian!
Kryten:I have strange thoughts when I'm asleep. Lister:I know they're called dreams.
...strange written down, but its the way Craig Charles says "dreams".
