I'm just watching this programme. Whilst I don't for one moment condone rudeness and abuse I also wonder just what these oversize people want ? How can they blame folk on public transport for not wanting to be squished up next to them ? Why is it everyone else's fault when they can't fit in plane seats ? Why are they always saying "I'm fat and I'm very happy" yet in this programme the majority of them are miserable ?

I watched most of it, but had to turn it off about ten minutes from the end. I found it upsetting. I know some people are obese because of over-indulgence but there are people with under active thyroids and slower metabolisms. There are also eating disorders. People think of them and automatically think anorexia and severely underweight young women. There are eating disorders around obesity too, and I think more research needs to be done into eating disorders that covers the full spectrum - underweight to obesity.
Whatever the reasons for the weight problems of the people featured in the programme, my stomach turned at the abuse they received. I hate, loathe and DETEST bullying in any form! I also found it sort of amusing (in a very grim way) that Mr. Plastic Surgery, the chap who got into the rejuvenating thingy, couldn't see that he had "problems" of a different sort - and yes, I felt compassion for him too.
Judgemental people, who decide what's right and wrong, good and bad, acceptable and unacceptable etc - quite frankly they make me want to throw up!
