This was screened last night and showed the journey from Fort William to Mallaig in Scotland - a journey described by some as the "Best in The UK".
We were aboard the wonderful steam train "The Jacobite" as it puffed its way north in summertime through many cuttings and small tunnels, across the beautiful Scottish countryside, and besides rivers, lochs and finally the sea. Slow, but so enjoyable. I expect it can still be caught on iPlayer or something.

It's repeated this Saturday 4 January, Channel 5, 5.10pm-7.00pm.
Thanks for this! I'll record it to watch as a bit of Slow TV when needed.

I watched it yesterday. Could have done without the BGM but there wasn't much of it.

I watched this last night. Very beautiful. I've driven along that road but never taken the train, which is of course a much better way to see the scenery. Unless you're going on to Skye, the journey is the reason to do it as Mallaig is tbh nothing to get excited about.

Yes, I've driven the road which is besides the rail line, too. We stayed in a friend's wooden bungalow in Arisaig for a week, and explored the area, including getting the ferry across to Skye for the day. Everywhere around there is beautiful. Mallaig was only interesting from the point of view of seeing where the fishing industry had been, though.
