Well this is an odd kettle of fish. It airs on Wednesday at 10.00, started this week.
It stars Jane Levy from Suburgatory, which I enjoyed, as a successful (extremely annoying) coder who works in one of those companies with swings in the office and a cereal bar. Need I say more? She is around 30 going on 14. After an earthquake when she is having an MRI, she develops the ability to hear what people are thinking through the medium of song. I know!!!
Just how millennial she is is revealed when she tells her father, who has a sort of locked in syndrome type of illness, how unhappy she is and needs to speak to him, if only he would just snap out of it!!! I couldn't believe they left that line in.
So the actual dramatic parts are pretty awful, mainly thanks to the lead who doesnt seem to have honed any skills since playing a teenager in Suburgatory. But the song and dance routines are really good so if you fancy a singalong, this is the show for you. The Guardian gave it a pretty bad review except for the musical numbers and the hardworking cast.

I have had to abandon ship! It is a novel idea and the dance routines are very good, but not worth sitting through the acting bits. The main problem is the awful performance by the lead actress.

I haven't seen this show but I've seen lots of adverts for it on NBC.
I was surprised when I pulled up the schedule grid to see that it was an hour long "drama" show since the trailer adverts make it look like a whacky sitcom.

I thought it was classed as a comedy drama. Is it a big hit in the US, yankee? It doesnt deserve to be, imho!!!

No Marion far from it. Its on Sunday nights which is a pretty dismal night for NBC. This link shows NBC tied for 4th place in the Sunday ratings with Univision. Univision is a Spanish language station. There are a lot of Spanish speaking people in the US obviously (just ask Trump) but those networks aren't usually running neck and neck in the ratings with the big 4 (ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC) www.thewrap.com/zoeys-extraordinary-playlist-ratings-american-idol-abc-wins-univision/

Right. It is only playing on E4 here which does have some popular shows (Big Bang Theory, The Goldbergs) but also a lot of filler programmes, and very small audience figures.

I liked Suburbgatory but the lead actress was my least favorite character.
I wonder if maybe this actress is just off putting?
