C4 Wed 18 March, 10.00pm-10.35pm then whole series (6 eps) on All4.
I'll give this semi-autobiographical comedy a try, having just noticed it. Co-written by Mae Martin, who also stars. Charlotte Ritchie (recently in McDonald and Dodds) plays her love interest, Lisa Kudrow her mother. Other familiar names in the cast include Ophelia Lovibond, Pippa Haywood, Adrian Lukis.

Well I have watched the first two episodes but don't think I shall bother to watch the rest. I find Mae so intense and needy she is rather unsettling and I have barely laughed at all. So recording and link now deleted.

I'm still watching. It's more witty than funny, and pretty serious at times. I'll see it out now.

George has big misgivings about the relationship and decides to break up with Mae, then regrets it and pines to have her back. Mae goes back on the drugs (after 4 years clean) and tearfully arranges to go home to her parents in Canada in 2 days time. No sooner has she done that than George turns up, pours her heart out and the relationship is back on. The end...
- well, perhaps not quite. As the finale finishes Mae going to Canada is still on, and George seems about to learn of the drugs relapse (and maybe certain other little details of their time apart). So some hooks are there for a possible second series.
