I'm not bothered by spoilers so don't hold back on my account!

Anyone else still with this? Daft as ever, of course. It has to be the last series because there is nothing much left to get in a lather about. Carrie would not have walked into a bazaar in Kabul after midnight on her own - she really , really couldn't. A full burkha at a pinch - but not alone. And when the boy says 'I know what you are looking for.'..….. an aircraft black box? Not in my experience of eastern bazaars. It doesn't spring to mind as an urgent shopping need. perhaps its all in the expression. Must work out what 'We urgently need a black box.' sort of face is required.... anyway they never managed to indicate that it was really red...…. But come on WD, stop carping, why let reality get in the way of a good Homeland adventure. I wonder if she can ever land another part when this is done - the croaky voice and frown is so very Homeland.

I have been recording these and have them saved up for a rainy day. I will watch, probably, but it certainly isn't must-see television as it once was. I think it has fallen prey to the American tendency to make (typically, I believe) seven series because they have a winning formula and all the writers, cast, production team and so on are in place. I thought the first two series (before they bumped off Brody) were excellent. Since then I've caught up rather than looking forward to it.

I gave it up after the first series when the hero had a phone signal in a lead-lined nuclear bunker 5 metres underground. And he was about to defuse a bomb-vest but took a call from his daughter so she could whine at him about feeling neglected. My eyes rolled so hard I could see the top of my head!

I am still watching but mainly because of Yevgeny, aka The Lovely Oleg, rather than the ultra irritating Carrie. It is OK I think but nothing like it was in its Brody era. And poor Max!!! As I say, every bloody idea that woman has leads to someone copping a bullet.

I'm just starting to binge-watch this now seeing as the last episode airs tonight. I haven't read any of your comments yet as I'll wait till I've watched the relevant episode first, but I just want to say I'm on edge for all of episode 1 and I don't know how I'll last out if they're all like this, lol!

Max the Good Luck Charm getting his head rubbed by the soldiers before they went out on their mission. I hope he makes it to the end as he's been in it right from the start.

Last episode coming up.... gosh. last week it was ever so exciting because it being the last episode and that Carrie has got to go out and shoot the producer/ director - no, I may have got that wrong. I know I kept wondering if she would get a pension after all of this. My mind wanders sometimes. Perhaps she will not live to get a pension. I'd better watch. I honestly do not think Brody will suddenly reappear. Pity that. It has been an entertaining long haul and with a few very shrewd insights into the way things are really done.

Fantastic. Gripping to the end. For me, one of the best.

Yes, I was gripped throughout, too. 🙂

Gripping and for me extremely surprising! I couldn't quite believe she was prepared to expose Anna, assuming it must be a bluff. And if course no time for poor little Frannie! Mind you, Yevgeny and that penthouse would certainly tempt me, lol. A nice nod back to the golden age of spying in this series I thought, not all whizz bang technology.
Now who was that mad chap John with the beard in the White House? Where did he suddenly pop up from? One episode he just appeared with full access to the President yet he wasn't an actual politician or civil servant was he? I didn't recognise him but apparently he was played by Hugh Dancy, Mr Claire Danes.

He looked familiar to me, but I didn't realise he was actually Hugh Dancy (so thanks for clearing that up)! He's changed a lot since I last saw him in anything (I know he's worked regularly, but not in things I've watched). I think his character was some cronie of the prez, wasn't he, brought in without experience or relevant qualifications, getting his feet under the table? That was the impression I got, anyway.
