Bohemian Rhapsody. Rami Malik is good at Freddie and does the accent very well. The scenes of Live Aid sent goosebumps over me, I burst into tears at one point, I don't know why, I think it was the power of the songs, the togetherness of the crowd, and hankering for my childhood. I'd read a few articles that said they ignored his homosexuality, so I was expecting there to be nothing, but there was enough, a 2hr film is going to be hard to get everything in. I enjoyed it. Allen Leech is in it, so now I need the Downton Abbey Movie!

Sad to say, that the latest film I've seen was this week when I took my granddaughter (4 and a half) to see Lego Movie II. It proved to be a little too old for her, but was amusing, with plenty of adult jokes inserted to keep them happy. Colourful (Lego is, let's face it!) and also lots of loud pop music.
A good enough film for most younger children, with plenty of action and drama.

Arrrrrrrrrhhhhhhhhhh! Barrow! 😍 I'm sooo happy. 😊 Can't wait for this. I used to go to the cinema about once a week many years ago but I haven't been in about 2yrs (too much comic book and CGI), and the last couple of times were for old/cult movies for a 100 people. I tend to wait for DVDs/Sky etc. But me and my mom have already said we'll go and see this and have a meal before hand and make a night of it. I wish the whole movie was the story of Barrow though, I always preferred the downstairs characters to the upstairs, I suppose most people can relate more to them.

Last time I went, it cost us £9 each, and that's with concessions for us being OAPs, and a reduction because it was an afternoon screening!!!

I actually didn't like Queen that much in their heyday, it's only in recent years I've come to appreciate them. I re-watched their live performance in Budapest (1986) the other day - they were about the first Western group to perform a large open air gig in what was still an iron curtain country, and held 80,000 people in the palms of their hands. The band still didn't know about Freddie's AIDS at the time, a year after Live Aid, so the Bohemian Rhapsody film tinkered with history a bit.

I see there's still a dog in it (though its backside seems to be missing from the opening sequence).
I'm a Downton fan, so looking forward to the movie.

How much does it cost to go to the cinema now? I stopped going a few years ago cos of the cost but I used to go a lot. For me, as many films as I want....for just under £18 a month - Cineworld. Rocketman last week, which was excellent, as good as Bohemian Rhapsody and the crazy John Wick the week before.

Holy crap! Too rich for me. Check it out though, up here it's about £8.50 but they do a £5 cheap ticket one day a week and other concessions. They do an old film on a week day pm, with a scone and a cup of tea for about £6. Recently it was Went the day well - on the big screen - amazing.

It's not just the entry fee though. It's also the cost of getting there. £4 for a bus ticket into the city centre and back on one bus route. Or £3 for two bus routes to an out-of-town cinema. That's about a tenner. And my finances are so tight that if I spend a tenner at the pictures, I have to go without something else.

I wish my local was a Cineworld, £18 isn't too bad as long as you go at least twice a month you'd make your money back. Mines about £9 on a night and then extra for certain screens, 3D etc. During the day it's slightly cheaper but only by about £1-2. I used to go to an independant that was about £3.50 on one afternoon, but that's gone up to over £5.

I'm looking forward to seeing Rocketman, the Elton John biopic.
