Hoping this is the right page to put this!
Just saw a trailer for a rerun of ER. Besides Hill St Blues this is (for me) one of the best ever drama series. We have the DVDs somewhere and years ago we have watched them over and over.
Only problem is that it is on 8pm on Monday . . . hmmmm . . . Corrie or ER? At least it isn't on late like Medium!
Brilliant news!!

Oh fantastic! Love ER. Love to see it from the start again. I watched every single episode when it was originally on.

I used to enjoy ER back in the day. Not sure I'd want to sit through it all again though.

I couldn't find this on Channel 5, is it there at another time? After a bit of detective work I've discovered that it is on CBS Drama on Mondays at 8 pm. Anyone know if this is a Freeview channel? I do hope so as I'd love to see the early episodes again, with Doug and Mark's double act and Carter as a student being mentored by Benton (I'm slightly embarrassed that I remember all this!). I hadn't realised that Susan (Sherry Stringfield) was in it right at the start.

Found it.
That took a bit of detective work!
I have just seen a longer trailer for ER whilst watching Medium. How wonderful to see all the original characters . . . so looking forward to next Monday. I know I could watch the DVD but I have no idea how to even put one on, actually come to think of it i don't even think we have a working DVD player . .
Talking of Medium - I haven't seen tonight's before. Nice to see one where I can't predict what is going to happen . .

Watching this now and just remembered why I loved it before! I was crying before the first ad break.

Brilliant brilliant. Utterly all consuming. If I remember correctly this first episode was a pilot and the moving camera shots were experimental. Well, they definitely worked! Now everyone does it. But ER was the best.
Wasn't it wonderful to see Mark, Susan, Carol, Benton, all the fabulous nurses. Doesn't George Clooney look young? And of course Dr Carter . . .
Only problem is that my evenings are now booked for some time . . .

Ahhhh..... that explains why I was confused about whether this was the first one. I knew it was Carter's first day but I was expecting it to start with Carol being rushed in.

Loved tonight's. ER certainly set the benchmark for this type of drama.
The followed by Medium which has changed from 11pm to 9pm. I thought I had seen all series but the last few are new to me, which is great.

Ahh, lovely to see them all so young. Julianna Margulies was rather hatchet-faced in The Good Wife, partly the character and partly a lot of make-up. Here she is either not wearing any make-up at all, or made up to look as if she isn't.
I suppose when it became such a smash hit, their budget would allow them to be experimental. I do remember those long tracking shots with lots of individual life-saving activities going on, and the occasional live episode which must have been terrifying. And I did have a little weep from time to time, such as when Mark died and Haleh perusing the wall with all the name badges of former colleagues.
