I didn't know much about this when it was happening as I don't follow the news or celeb gossip. Obviously I was aware it was happening cos it was everywhere but I just dismissed it as tabloid nonsense.
But I saw this in the listing and thought 'why not?' It was more interesting than I expected.
Of course it's only Coleen Rooney's version of events so it is one-sided. But it taught me one thing: I do not want her life. For all her money and fame and the opportunities they have brought, she pays one hell of a price. As do all celebs but WAGS especially. Nothing they do or say is taken seriously, no matter how bad the effect on their mental health. This whole episode was treated by everyone as a huge joke and in a lot of ways it was stupid and trivial. Rebekah Vardy should never have gone to court over it, knowing that there was evidence that she was in the wrong. But like many people, she forgot that what is posted on the internet is there for anyone to find. Even if you think it's been deleted or hidden, it's there if you know how to look.
It also taught me that there's no such thing as a morally good journalist. Vultures, the lot of them.
I do have more respect for Coleen Rooney now. And yes I know it was edited to make her look good but she's not the empty headed bimbo she has been made to look in the media. I do think she went about things in the wrong way. She should have taken her evidence to a lawyer so they could threaten Vardey in private. But that's easy to say in hindsight. Though I'm sure it's what her PR team would have told her to do if she'd let them know what she was planning.
All in all it was an interesting glimpse into a strange world.
