The second series of Fortitude will premiere on Thursday January 26th at 9pm.
Fortitude told the story of a mysterious death in a close-knit community in the Arctic Circle.
In series two, a fresh murder rocks the community and plunges it into turmoil. And out in the stunning icy wilderness, nature is growing even more unpredictable, deadly and dangerous.
Most of the cast from season one – including Sofie Gråbøl and Richard Dormer – are returning and will be joined by Dennis Quaid, Parminder Nagra, Michelle Fairley, Robert Sheehan, and Ken Stott.

Just caught up with the latest episode (series 2 episode 6) - anyone watching this?
It's even more barmy than the first series (not to mention gruesome), and the body count continues to advance by one a week - looks like we've lost an original cast member this time.
On the plus side, I'm enjoying Ken Stott's character (Erling Munk). "This is not my dream job" he shouts at Sofie Grabol (Hildur), after death number 3 or 4 - though is that in the script, or is it the actor regretting signing up for the part?

I watched the first series of this and was totally bemused (confused). The second series is just as puzzling...but I will stick to it to the bitter end

Episode 9 was the most extreme yet in this bizarre and increasingly gory series, and certainly not one for the squeamish. I found it almost completely unfathomable - even the "ordinary" stuff, let alone the hallucinations - what on earth is going on?

This is the most confusing and weird programme I have watched (apart from series 1 ) I haven't a clue what is going on, but I will stick it out to the bitter end in case I miss the explanation. I was sorry they killed off Hildur...but with the oddness of this place she could well reappear!! Somehow I can't see a third series.

Thanks DBC, was waiting for this. Only 4 episodes this time. No doubt it will be as bonkers as ever.

{STORYLINE:Click to Show} In season three, the events of recent months have changed everyone in the small Arctic town of Fortitude. Cops, scientists and citizens are all struggling to deal with the fallout from the deaths of Hildur and Munk, the parasite’s malign influence and the vengeful shaman’s rampage.
Dan Andersson has lost his way. He survived the parasite, the freezing waters of the Arctic sea, the drug overdose, kidnapping and crucifixion but now the sheriff of Fortitude is struggling to hold onto any sense of good and evil, right and wrong as his own world shifts and fractures.
Michael Lennox is drinking himself to death, overwhelmed by grief and failure until a woman from the distant past appears in the town. Elsa Schenthal, responsible for so much calamity. And now she offers Michael a chance at some kind of redemption. And all the time the ghosts of the unquiet dead are flickering at the edges of this frozen, isolated, Arctic world.

The final series was utterly barmy, as expected, with the usual high body/GBH count. Good to see some appearances from Sofie Grabol (despite her character having been killed in series 2) and a brief glimpse of Michael Gambon again at the end. I think the best thing for me was Richard Dormer's performance as the completely off-his-rocker police chief, a bit reminiscent of Jack Nicholson in 'The Shining'.
