I think I’m like a lot of people in the same age group who are pretty much avoiding cheap snack food and milk chocolate (well....most of the time) so nowadays, I find most of them far too salty and sweet - they just have an artificial flavour. The same applies to any tomato concentrate pasta sauces or pizzas.
Re Cadbury’s, Kraft are massive and only really have a reputation in the UK for cheesy products (under their own parent name that is). Soon after they acquired Cadbury’s they revamped the milk production and supply and got criticised for it. Now subsumed under Mondelez name. Considering that the US have no tradition of decent dairy products and what they call cheese ( or even cheddar cheese) is orange, soapy and beyond disgusting, this may account for the cheesy taste of modern chocolate coverings. It’s probably just a smooth mixture of Kraft cheese triangles, sugar, brown colouring and a brief wave at a vat of cocoa butter. What can you expect from a country that puts high fructose corn syrup in its bread? Rats will eat that in preference to other food nonstop until they die. Some people regard it as a form of heroin.......
