Ah, our bad weather has given me the perfect excuse to watch le Tour. But to be honest it is something I have done for years. Earlier this year I was lucky enough to win a Facebook competition to travel in a VIP car on the first stage of the Women's Tour de Yorkshire. It has given me a completely different perspective watching Le Tour this year. I couldn't believe how much of the organisation goes unnoticed. How marvellous it must be to make a living at something you enjoy doing. Also, the first stage is covering the parts of Normandy I stayed in 3 years running on a school exchange.

I enjoyed the first stage, from Mt. Saint-Michel, but the crash near the end was scary, I was surprised that everyone was able to continue today. It seems to me the equivalent of running a marathon every day (but more dangerous), they must be incredibly fit!
