Poor chaps, out there for 4hr 45min until gone 4 in the morning! Andy going nuts because he couldn’t go to the loo having used both permitted breaks, 😱. They must be relieved (oops, no pun intended) when they get to Wimbledon and it’s an 11 o’clock curfew.

I think they have one don’t they? Apparently the balls are very slow this year which, amazingly, is being held up as the main culprit, plus a very clogged schedule.

In ‘the old days’ IIRC, Wimbledon usually finished just as July began… this year it doesn’t start until Monday 3rd??
What has happened to cause such a big change?

It started a few years ago to allow longer between Roland Garros and Wimbledon. Allows players more grass tournaments between the two surfaces

Eastbourne clash between a Ukranian and a Russian player. No love lost obviously and definitely no shaking of hands at the end. Muted applause since the Russian girl won.

Kyrgios has just withdrawn from Wimbledon. Fine by me! Quite a lot of traffic around this morning heading towards SW19.

I was disappointed when I put BBC1 on at 1.45 to see the hopeless presenter, is her name Isha?, has kept her job after last year’s shambles. She is beyond hopeless imho. I thought it was going to be Claire Balding, but perhaps she will come on a bit later. At least Claire seems to do a lot of research to master any brief she is given. I don’t think the other one has much of a clue about tennis as a game or Wimbledon as a tournament. (Bah humbug, 😂😂) I do hope Sue gets air time as a guest. The first match features Djokovic so not a great one for me although the voice of Feliciano Lopez may keep me tuned in!
