I was disappointed when I put BBC1 on at 1.45 to see the hopeless presenter, is her name Isha?, has kept her job after last year’s shambles. She is beyond hopeless imho. I thought it was going to be Claire Balding, but perhaps she will come on a bit later. At least Claire seems to do a lot of research to master any brief she is given. I don’t think the other one has much of a clue about tennis as a game or Wimbledon as a tournament. (Bah humbug, 😂😂) I do hope Sue gets air time as a guest. The first match features Djokovic so not a great one for me although the voice of Feliciano Lopez may keep me tuned in! I agree the Isha(?) is not good. The way she speaks leaves a lot to be desired 🙀

She pauses at the oddest moments, as in Se….. Rena!
I was watching Casualty and just popped back to see Annabel Croft in the studio. I always wonder why they don’t use her very much because she obviously knows the game and is very articulate. I did wonder if she would be working this year as the poor woman lost her husband only a few weeks ago.

I know a lot of people find her annoying. But at least she does learn about the sport she has been given, as when she took over the swimming at the Olympics. A pity some others don’t bother…

I’ve just thought, there is a new chap presenting Today at Wimbledon…. I did read something which suggested he is new to tennis (of course!!) but I wonder if they will change the format. Who remembers that dreadful year when Claire had to sit in front of an audience up in the roof, gathered round that plastic bar. God it was mortifying, like one of those ITV2 shows after Big Brother etc. people were furious and they had to stop it mid-run, but this is a year of change so who knows. I shall have to set the recorder one night or I’ll never remember to check because 9.00 is drama time for me.

Alcaraz in furious form, wiping the floor with his opponent so far. And we have Feliciano again!!!!! Hopefully he will get all the Spaniard's matches because that should give him a long run. 😍
The NOISE LEVEL on No 1 court coverage with the crowd under the roof and the rain on it is thunderous, or at least the way it is being picked up by the mics. I can barely hear the commentary at times, which normally isnt a problem...

Dear me. There is no play so whilst having an early lunch I was watching the studio chat which was banal in the extreme. Chaired by the new Sue (hopeless and pausing throughout every sentence), the guests were John Lloyd, quite articulate, and… hold your excitement, Liam Broady’s sister. Well it’s not exactly Sue, Martina and Billie Jean is it? It’s sunny here so hopefully this won’t last much longer.
I think they are going to be trying to make their coverage more trendy this year. I just witnessed Player Mic, where Novak was given an earpiece to give us commentary as he practised rather than sitting for an interview or a courtside chat. Of course, the more he plays the more you hear his heavy breathing. It all seems a bit desperate to me but perhaps I’m just too old! 😂😂 My recording of the highlights show failed last night so I haven’t seen that yet.

I've not watched any live. Glad to see Dan Evans got knocked out. Won't have to put up with any more of his tantrums. The other fella deserved to go through after putting up with all that nonsense and then playing with an injury.

I really enjoy Wimbledon. I shan't be watching the Mens final though as I expect Djokovic will be there and I can't stand him.

I watched the new highlights show last night. It’s not for me but it was rather bright and breezy, and the new host seemed to know about tennis and he was articulate, so that’s a plus. He had a fairly long chat with Naomi Broady who seems to be flavour of the month this year and I suspect they want her as a presenter. She has had twins so don’t know if that’s it or if she is going to resume playing, but she is young and that is a key criterion imo. It was mainly very quick updates on play and a lot of it had been prerecorded. I didn’t hear any in-depth analysis although when McEnroe came on I assumed he would do the remaining 20 minutes or so. He was given about 3 minutes so I don’t know why he bothered to go there really! So if I missed a day’s play as I will next Wednesday I wouldn’t bother to watch this for an update and would just check the website/papers. But it wasn’t unwatchable.

Me three.
I switched over from Andy’s match for a while and when I returned was surprised at how well he came back. Here’s hoping he finishes it off today, and also that Tsitsipas doesn’t do his usual I need an extremely long loo break routine, because that will make Andy lose his rag.
I saw Clare doing an interview on play so far yesterday and it was Feliciano Lopez opining!!! That man is getting serious air time. And that is perfectly fine by me, 😍.
