has anyone been affected by this today and can they get back in yet? I have been following via Down Detector and Down Today and it still seems to be affecting users. I got in on my pc after a few tries but no joy at all on the iPad. Luckily it is not my main account.

Latest news is that is apparently working on PCs but not on mobile devices. I don't know how reliable the "working on PCs" is though!

I got told to sign into my Hotmail account on Friday last, had the password rejected, and when trying to change the password, got into a Timed Out situation until I had tried too many times and had to wait 24 hours to try again. Gave up and took it to my friendly neighbourhood computer whizz who is currently trying to sort it out. Is this the problem others are having?

This was a ginormous Microsoft server crash today. It told you to re-enter password but then you got nowhere. No timing out scenario though so it sounds similar but not quite the same. It is now fixed for mobile devices at least here (London) but don't know about elsewhere. I saw complaints from US, Canada, Australia, Norway and Holland. Mine accepted the password and was Ok but who knows if that will be the end of it! Apparently it also affected Xboxes, of which I know nothing. Hopeless notifications online from Microsoft though, nothing on their website, and I only saw it on the Down Detector type of site and news sites.

Thanks Marion. Sounds similar, as you say. I'm not sure what is happening here in Spain. I have an anxiety attack every time something goes wrong because I am the least techie person on the planet, with no idea about how to put things right! jawsmiley
I'll wait until I talk with my ace saviour some time tomorrow and hope it's been sorted.

Read about this, but I've been into my Outlook account both this morning and earlier this evening on both my PC and Android tablet.without any trouble. I have hotmail account.

My account has stopped working on the iPad today so I deleted it (which took several attempts) and downloaded the app which seems to be fine. What a palaver!

I'm back into my Hotmail account, but couldn't get the Password reset myself - kept getting a Timed Out message. Fortunately have a lovely young man in a computer repair shop who got me sorted out. Very frustrating to be locked out.

I think the errors of the other day haven't been fully resolved. Thankfully in all this palaver I haven't had to change my password. (Hope I haven't spoken too soon.)
