Monday March 27th at 10pm.
A “powerful family drama”, Harlots follows Margaret Wells and her daughters, as she struggles to reconcile her roles as mother and brothel owner. When her business comes under attack from Lydia Quigley, a rival madam with a ruthless streak, Margaret will fight back, even if it means putting her family at risk.
An 8 episode period drama, it stars Samantha Morton (Cider With Rosie), Lesley Manville (Maleficent) and Jessica Brown Findlay (Downton Abbey).

Thanks, I've been on the lookout for this one starting. With a strong cast, it should be good.

Following the closure of pay channel ITV Encore earlier this year, ITV have opted not to proceed with any further seasons of Harlots.
There had been some question as to whether or not it would move to the main channel as fellow ITV Encore originals The Frankenstein Chronicles and Dark Heart did.
The news comes on the heels of U.S. streaming service Hulu, who were originally co-producers, stepping up to fully commission an eight episode third series. ITV Studios Global Entertainment are now seeking a new home for the second and third series of Harlots here in the UK.
This is not the first time that a UK original drama has been cancelled only to be picked up by a North American streaming service without the originating broadcaster’s involvement. Earlier this year, Sky One cancelled Agatha Raisin, prompting Acorn TV to fully commission a second series; and when BBC Two executives opted not to continue with The Last Kingdom, Netflix (who served as the global broadcaster outside the UK) stepped up and ordered series three.
Netflix UK will launch series three of The Last Kingdom later this year.

Hmm - I was waiting to see what ITV would do about series 2 of Harlots, which has finished its run on Hulu in the US. Hopefully a UK channel will be found to air the second and third series, as Harlots is an entertaining watch. If you thought Lesley Manville only played "nice" parts, like in 'Mum', you'd have a big surprise. In this show she plays a black-hearted, merciless, scheming, vicious and vindictive cow - not to put too fine a point on it!

StarzPlay – which is available in the UK on Amazon Prime via Amazon Channels – has secured the exclusive UK rights to the period drama after striking a deal with international distributor ITV Studios Global Entertainment.
The first season, which aired on ITV Encore back in 2017, will launch on the streaming service on Friday January 18th, while the show’s second season, which has never aired in the UK before, will launch on Thursday February 14th.

Trouble with Starzplay, like (I think) all Amazon Channels, is it costs extra on top of the Amazon Prime subscription. £4.99 per month for Starzplay.

Right, that's immediately after it starts on Hulu in the States, so no delay.
