OMFG!! I looked through a tv magazine earlier and it said who the father of Leo and David was!!!! It's not like I'm shocked, I thought this anyway, but put a spoiler. Idiots. The father is... According to the magazine. Paul! Which makes no sense what so ever! Hopefully it's a double bluff as I remember the episode with Leo and Any in the hot tub!😲 As I've said with the ethnicity, Leo and David are from a Japanese background, their mother maybe mixed race but has a Japanese background and Leo and David look like their father would be Japanese also, hence why they were looking at Bradley (the homeless man) and The Udagawas as potential figures and weren't looking at anyone not Japanese. Kim was 15 back then and Paul was Scott's older brother, (I think at university) so would've been in his earlier 20s! It's as if the writers have been going along one path and at the last minute had this epiphany that Amy and Leo are close and Leo and Paul are enemies so it'd be great for Paul to be the father as it'd put the cat amongst the pigeons, even those it makes no sense and forgetting all the back story with potential (Japanese) fathers and the fact that Kim was underage so Paul's now committed a sexual crime and all the other things that don't make sense with this story (the picture of Scott, Jason Donovan, wasn't the original Scott that Kim went to the dance with for a start...but I suppose he's the most recognisable.) Why didn't the great grandmother want them to know?
I thought the fake Dee was far fetched but at least the reveal was entertaining and the build up had been interesting (you could see the writers were playing the long game) and the mix of the miscarriage added to the emotion.

I've just checked and if... Stefan Dennis, the actor and Paul Robinson, the character, are the same age (which is 58) Paul Robinson, in 1985, would've be been 27/28! ...ok another website says Paul Robinson was born in 1963, which would still make him 22/23!

Found this bit of potted history on Neighbours perfect blend regarding KimTanaka. Takes a bit of reading but maybe the paternity is explained ??

It makes sense a little bit. the fact that Paul gave Scott money to help Kim have an abortion might mean that he knew he was the father but didn't want Scott to know, but on the other hand it could have just been him helping his brother. I think Paul was supposed to be a slightly nicer character then, younger and maybe happier before the breakdown of his first marriage, where she tried to kill him!! ...OMG, I've just read a bit more and Kim's mother Marcia wanted to take Kim to the doctor to find out if Scott raped her. I've read a bit more (but it's so long) but there doesn't really seem to be anything between Paul and Kim, so the writers are making up stuff that's not really there because the storyline is that long ago, 32years, that not many people will know if they'll telling the truth or not. The main point is, she was 15!! And he sooo wasn't.
Also the character that wasn't very big (she wasn't a main cast member) and before the show was really a success, it aired on Channel 7 before moving to Network 10. The Channel 7 series, the first series, is the one with Kim and the original Scott Robinson, Darius Perkins, who no one remembers! I think all the episodes were shown in the UK though, but again 31years ago. [/p]

Neighbours writers are probably being influenced by Fry and Laurie.

Ok, I'm even more confused, but it obviously makes sense for Scott to be the father as Kim and Scott had a bit of a thing and we're the same age and at school together, but that magazine said it was... Paul. The whole crux of the story has been finding out who their dad was and obviously they've been searching for him to meet him, if it is Scott then all of the 1st meetings etc would play out off screen because Jason Donovans not coming back. Unless they say Scott doesn't want to meet them, but that would mean changing the character because Scott's always been portrayed as an honest guy and I think would want to meet them, so in the respect of on screen stories it makes more sense for it to be Paul. But when Paul was speaking to Kim in the pub he never looked worried that he could possibly be the father and only mentioned if Kim had told Scott. Either the magazine's got it wrong or there's another twist.

I was expecting a twist in the Paul Robinson's the daddy storyline. But now he's admitted it to David and Leo I can't see how it could be anyone else but him. I thought that he might be saying it to help out Kim but that would mean risking the relationship he has with his own daughter, Amy
It makes no sense whatsoever. Paul said he'd met Kim while at Uni and they got together as he thought she was a uni student. I've watched the first 30 episodes (well, flicked through them!) and there is no way that you could think she was a uni student. She looked like what she was, a 15 year old girl.
Also how did she get to met Paul? Her mother never let her leave the house and always wanted to know where she was and what she was doing, so would have been difficult for her, not to mention she wasn't really allowed to have any friedns at school due to her controlling mother so was quite introverted to be surrounded by older uni guys.
Kim said that she got pregnant and then ran away. But if she was already pregnant why did she go to the doctor to go on the pill? It's a little bit late. She went to the doctor because she was getting close to Scott and wanted to take precautions but the writers are rewritting history. The audience was made to think that Scott was her first boyfriend and that's why she was going to the doctor, but in today's episode it said she was on a break from her boyfriend Bradley Shadwell, slept with Paul before going out with Scott! This doesn't seem like the Kim from the 1st episodes. Also Bradley was Asian so why did Leo and David think it was him when it was a Caucasian guy?
They're also making out Paul was a womaniser who didn't give any regards to their feelings. Which might be how he's portrayed now since the breakdown of various marriages, but back at the start of the show Paul was a decent guy who had a thing for Daphne (when he's walking Daphne home and spots some graftti about her on her garage door, he tries to block her view so she doesn't have to see it and them cleans it off. He tries to help the Rev with his out reach work, starting with his alcoholic neighbour, Mrs Brown, and this is in the first few episodes)
It also means that Paul now has, at least, 7 children!

It's been a fascinating plot line though...and has now opened a right can of worms, especially as Paul detests Leo.

I still think it's silly to have Paul as the father as there was no relationship with Kim. He said he met her while at uni and before she met Scott so this would've been before the show started. And there's no mentioned that she was 15 at the time! He said he though she was at uni as they met at a party, but she was so introverted and could barely leave the house without her mom knowing and went to the doctors for the pill because they made out she was planning to sleep with Scott so was taking precautions but now it's rewritten history and said she would've already have slept with Paul! And she didn't look anywhere near 18 back in 1985. And the old B&W clips they showed were misleading because when the person entered the room with Paul in bed, it wasn't Kim but Scott as they shared a bedroom. And when Kim is looking at someone it's a clip of when Kim found Scott in a room of a monestary and they had their first kiss...I know, I've flicked through the first 45episodes! And I thought some of the acting today was bad, Danny Ramsey anyone! Although, ironically Kim was better then! Weird.
It does open up lots of storylines though, with Any and Leo's relationship. And because Leo and Paul are more similar in personality will David feel left out? Also will David feel more relaxed in coming out or more secretive? Will he be scared of letting his father down (as I've always had a feeling this is partly why he hasn't come out, that he feels a potential father would be disappointed) or will Paul give him the acceptance to be finally be himself. I think Paul would be happy for him, he's got time for Aaron so would welcome Aaron as a partner.
They'll be a new family joining soon now Brad and Lauren have gone but it won't be their house as Paige still lives there.

Neighbours is still on the Flemish channel in original language but with Dutch subs.
Lots to happen, it seems. Over here Brad and Lauren are still in.

Brad and Lauren left on Friday here. If Paige is pregnant then it's close to being sync.

Yeah, David's finally come out. Arh bless I'm so pleased he feels he can now. I had a feeling it wasn't just his grandmas reaction but the worry of his father's expectations. He said that he though his father would've wanted him to "tick boxes" good job, house, kids, wife. And I loved the scenes between David and Paul where Paul reassured him that he didn't expect him to tick boxes, all he wanted was for him to be happy. ⚀⚁⚂⚃⚄⚅ ...couldnt find a rainbow flag on the smilies!lol
