I watched Come Dine With Me on More4 earlier this evening. They had a guy called Andy on who was a DJ at weddings, one of the woman guests, Penny, was so condescending when she found out what he did. Why? Because the music he plays is a bit cheesy? That's what I want at a wedding, I want songs everyone knows. I used to work at a place that has a DJ at weekends and he'd be playing all this loud R 'n' B and dance music and the atmosphere would be dead with people shouting to their friends to be heard. As soon as he put the cheese on (Dirty Dancing medley anyone?!) people would be singing along and smiling.
And when they went to Andy's house, Penny was saying the house was cheesy and as he's a cheesy DJ she'd expect that!!!! You're at the guys house, at his dinner party, show some self control. Rude woman. And his house was really nice, maybe decorated to a man's taste, black sheets on the bed, but lovely. She's only jealous cause she was banging on and on about how amazing her house was and it was no better.
And she said she plays Movin' On Up to inspire her team at meetings! She manages people! Holy $#:¥!!! I'd have walked out the first day. She was vile!)
Andy had a photograph he'd taken earlier in the evening added to a glass plate and put their dessert on it. Andrea started crying, Nicola said it was "thoughtful and a great finishing" and Penny?... "yeaaah that's cute, if not showboaty, if not cheesy, if not slightly over the top". No pleasing her.
It really is a show to watch each day. I started watching one episode which lead to a second and because I wanted to know who won I ended up recording the other 3!
