For the last 2 days I have been getting warning pop ups telling me this website is not secure as the certifier says the name is wrong. I have tried to check this and as they say only allow if you trust the site and I do, I have but I wonder if anyone else has had the same alert?

I haven't, but I've been getting that message when I log into a comics message board I've been on (and been an admin on) for about ten years with no problem.

It is odd when you have been using a site with no problem but thank you, it is re-assuring to hear it does happen to you and I am assuming you ignore it too. At least for a site you are very familiar with.

Have you had any updates from Microsoft recently?

Miranda.... Yes, I have just checked and their latest update was on April 22nd for Windows 10 Version 1607 for 64-based systems. Whatever that involved I do not know and it has only been happening these last 2 or3 days so it may have nothing to do with it. Thanks for taking an interest anyway.

Will try to explain, as have seen this elsewhere.
Technically this site is insecure, it does not begin with https://, no probords sites do,as each forum has its own domain name ,and it would cost probords to buy a security certificate for each site, which they will never do.
Too expensive, and as no financial transactions are taking place,no point.
On some browsers, seems to be Firefox, you will get a warning, others ,am posting using Chrome, you will not.
It is safe to proceed ,do not worry, nothing will happen.
If you click on the info icon to the left of "points of view url",the same warning appears.
So the solution is ,ignore, or switch to another browser.

Thank you both, especially Geoffers for the very clear explanation, I will do just as you suggest and go on enjoying visiting this really friendly and helpful place. I felt pretty sure all was well but it is great to have it confirmed. My thanks again.
