USA Network have announced that they are bringing back the show for a two-hour TV movie, which will air this coming December.
Lead actors James Roday and Dulé Hill are on-board to reprise their roles as Shawn and Gus, respectively. Other returning cast members include Timothy Omundson as Lassiter, Maggie Lawson as Juliet, Corbin Bernsen as Henry and Kirsten Nelson as Chief Vick.
Psych: The Movie picks up three years after the series finale and sees the friends come together during the holidays after a mystery assailant targets one of their own. Series creator Steve Franks and star James Roday have written the script.
At present there is no UK broadcaster attached to Psych: The Movie, but it is understood that NBCUniversal International Distribution will be pitching the one-off to buyers at the upcoming LA Screenings. Universal Channel is considered a likely bidder at this stage, given that they held first window rights to Psych during its original run, but it is also expected to be a potential target for ITV, who have recently finished airing the series.
