I loved Crossroads. (All of the different versions) but the original was the best. I think my favourite character was Amy Turtle

I loved "Crossroads" It was a real favourite . I have a few books and magazines about it. I have a picture of a young Noele Gordon in one of my old books which was written before "Lunch Box" and "Crossroads" Noele Gordon had a fascinating life . She was a model for John Logie Baird and she was a pioneer in TV arts in New York as well as being a singer in the West End musical "Brigadoon" I have a signed copy of her autobiography. I have the autographs of several stars of "Crossroads" including Tony Adams, Anne George, Sue Lloyd,Peter Hill, Ivor Salter and Carina Wyeth.

I bet that that is the only reference to Charles Stapley that we will see for years!

Lol probably When I was even younger than I am now I saw Charles Stapley on stage. He was appearing in 'The Mousetrap'. I also saw him in a documentary a few years ago and was surprised he was still alive! I've just checked and he dies in 2011 at 85 years old.
Tish Hope - bless you.

I remember when I was living in the North west in the mid 80's he did a commercial for a local car showrooms called BOC (Bolton, Oldham and Cleveleys)
The jingle used to go....
BOC better people to buy from Come and see, we're the Earls Court of the North
