I have always stayed logged in to this board and been able to return later. Now every time I leave, still without logging out, I need to log in on my return. Can anyone explain why please?

Because you have recently cleared your browsing history.
When you get the screen that asks you to log in,tick the box that says "remember me".
That will solve it.

Sadly I am still having problems needing to sign in, in spite of ticking remember me box. The freezing is still happening from time to time too (not every time) so will keep trying.

I have just left and returned again and this time there was no problem, I was straight in again so keeping my fingers crossed all will now be well.

Sadly I have just returned and again I had to sign in. It was OK returning immediately I left but after a couple of hours not. I don't understand why this should keep happening.

Microsoft Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge. Also today I have installed Google Chrome but I still find Explorer more straightforward to use and this time I came back without trouble or signing in. It is a mystery why it fails sometimes and not others.

It is indeed. The site normally leaves a cookie so you don't have to sign in. Hmmm.... I don't know what to suggest.
