Looks like another great doc for the 9pm slot on BBC4 this week...
bbc copy Documentary following a group of primary schoolchildren over the course of a year as they learn to read.

I watched this, thought it very interesting. Nothing will ever convince me that children learn better when seated at tables of 6 or 8 in a square rather than the old fashioned in rows facing the person who is teaching. Delightful children although the I was surprised that little girl with a "princess" bedroom was able to tell her mother repeatedly to "be quiet". I would never have dared speak to my mother like that and, if I had, I wouldn't have got away with it.

'Be quiet' They say what they what for dinner these days too - Thought the 7 to a table, was ok but it was a bit noisy around them....great kids still, and seeing them learn, was a joy. Loved the narration too, from one of the little ones.
