Beverly you mentioned that Midway had a scene that you felt was simply put in to show the Japanese treatment of POWs but that this was already covered in other films.
To that point, "Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence" with David Bowie and Tom Conti was an exceptionally good film about British troops in a Japanese POW camp.

Just been to see the newest version of "Little Women" --- oh, dear. A disaster, we thought. It could be retitled "Random Scenes in any Old Order, from a Book which has Been Popular"
Great costumes and some good performances, with lush scenery. But the constant change without any warning from the past to the present, to even the future, then back again, made no sense of the story at all. I only knew what was going on because I know the book backwards. Would never recommend this to someone who had read the book, or never read the book, either.
