This was on ITV 3 this last week. Does anyone recognise the music, a duet for violin and piano, played in the opening scene in the museum? The very first music was played by a musical box, a Chopin nocturne, but this was the next piece and I would love to know if it is another classic or was it composed by Barrington Pheloung and if it has a name? I have watched it again on the ITV Hub and looked at the Barrington Pheloung website, with no luck. I know there are very knowledgeable people posting on this board and I hope one of them may be able to help me. My grateful thanks if you are able to.

Well I just looked on tunefind.com and they only list two pieces in this epi. Apart from the music box number, there is Schubert's Piano Trio in E Flat Major, op 148, Notturno. As Nocturne is the name of the epi, that may be a winner and you could listen to it on tunefind just to double check. Although it says piano, I heard violin in the snippet I played on that site.

Marion, bless you, you found it! I am so thrilled that after asking and looking in many places myself, this is the one. I had not heard of this site and it is really good, so thank you very much, I have played the start of the programme many times since last Thursday, just to hear this piece again. I am now going back to hear it again and to make sure which of the two listed it is.

Hurray! I'm glad it was the right thing. That site is new to me too, one to remember!

It certainly is. Thank you again. I shall now try to find it on a CD to buy. I really am thrilled that after several frustrating days, you have succeeded where all else failed. Super Woman!

Yes, that is the one, I love it. The first theme is repeated several times and that is my favourite part but it all very enjoyable. Glad you like it too.
