I clicked on a Facebook link to a story on the website Learn Progress (a ridiculously partisan political site, I have since learned). Ever since, their notifications pop up in the corner of my screen about 4 times a day. I can't ignore them, because they don't fade away - I have to close the box.
What I've tried: 1. Looked for an 'unsubscribe' button. There isn't one that I can find. 2. Blocked FB notifications. 3. Used Google security to block the site. It's worked before, but not on this one.
Any ideas what to try next?

Can you clarify, is this when you open facebook or does it just happen randomly when you using device?
First thing,clear cache and cookies.
Second thing do a scan.
If that doesn't work, come back.

Facebook is closed. The notifications happen randomly every evening (it's an American site).
I'll do as you suggest - won't know if it's solved until tonight.

Well...quiet last night, so fingers crossed. Thanks!
I did have an Ack! moment when I clicked my bookmark for here and it took me to the 2016 version. Fortunately, I could check my iPad for the correct address.
