The one thing I dislike about 10 is that you can't turn off the updates.

Thanks for the link - just had a look and this game does not work on you device (laptop). My laptop is knocking on a bit now so will probably keep it for a bit longer and any new one will have Windows 10 anyway - will have to wean myself off the solitaire

A friend of mine downloaded Windows 10 and at first it was fine but then she had a nightmare time. She had to take it to a computer store to get it put back to what she had before. As a result I am avoiding it unless and until I buy a PC with it preloaded..... cos I'm a scaredy cat!

Is anyone using it and what do you think of it? I'm still using windows 7 but the OH thinks I should consider it, your views please would be appreciated. I installed W10 all by myself holly! My children keep telling me to be more confident re techie stuff! The tab kept popping up and I clicked "later" and then it told me when it would do it . . so really then I had no choice. I researched the installation quite exhaustively and picked several sites to read, one i think was a BT one. I read all their tips and made a detailed list. They give you choices as you install so I wanted to be prepared - and I was very thankful that I did! I have had no problems at all with W10. They do updates now and again so I will read that info that was suggested upthread by TLW (I think) Someone else mentioned the loss of Solitaire. That was a shock - I believe you have to pay to get that back. I just use another site and have found a great Solitaire game that is very taxing and as addictive!

I haven't lost Solitaire as it is in the "X-Box Live" app on the start up screen. You do have to join X-Box and they give you a ridiculous name but you can change that quite easily.

I've had W 10 for a week or so, after putting it off because I mistakenly thought there was no Windows Media Player on it. I'm impressed. Much quicker and not a million miles away from W 7.

I did look recently and thought it gave a biggish percentage yet now the bar is static , no sign of a % and it says............Oh good delete all that. It now says Great ,now we will get the upgrade started. My download was about 5 hours ! BTW Red I've always used scrabble and free cell and now manage on tablet with 2 free apps......my daily fix ;-)

Download and installation can take 3 to 4 hours, best thing, just leave it to get on with it.
Move away from the computer....
