In my experience, nothing wrong with Windows 10,l accept that others will have conflicting views.
Nothing was lost in the move,it is quicker to load and quite happy with it.
If you are going to switch ,you only have till 29th July(for free),and if you consider if you buy a new computer it will come installed with it anyway.
Support for 7 and 8 will cease at some point.

Very similar to 7 in a lot of ways,it is just a matter of adjusting to the layout.
If you had 8 ,which apparently was a bit of a mess, people l speak to say 10 is like 7 only better.
There is nothing too complicated, it is just a leap of faith, and if the worse comes to the worse you can, if you move quick ,go back to 7.

I have Windows 10 and think it is fine. At the grand old age of 79 (when I got it) I found no problem changing over.

I have also got Windows 10, and am very happy with it. However, my last laptop did seem to crash more often, but whether it was due to upgrading to Windows 10, it's hard to tell. I am on a newer laptop now, that had it pre-installed anyway. I can't say there are any major differences.

Because there are times when I need it, I dual boot Windows 10 and Ubuntu 16.04 (linux). Most of the time, I use Ubuntu, but if I need to, I use Windows 10 and see no problems with it. It is certainly better than Windows 8.x, which I am glad they moved away from. My ISP gave me free security software when I signed up, so it isn't a problem, so, unless there are some things where you feel an absolute need to keep to what you have, I'd say, it won't do any real harm to change.
If you have some people who play serious games on the computer, be aware that there are some serious problems i.e. the game no longer plays because of the way in which Windows 10 handles digital rights management. The same may be true of other software that you might need to reinstall.

I have Windows 10 on my tablet and on my laptop and have more or less got used to them , though not all my games will play. I still have 7 on my PC. For some reason Windows 10 just would not download. Not too worried because I would not like to lose my games on here and there would also be some issues with my printer ... which I really need for printing OH's cricket things.

Win10 is OK but to an inept like me it is not as user friendly as win7 or win8.1 if there are problems. I have a PC and I use it in desktop mode. Win10 has a familiar feel to it and is almost the same as win7 desktop. I did not like win8.1 desktop. I have an old program Quicken 2000 and that has ported over so it can't be all bad.

Thank you Holly for this thread. I seldom use my laptop but had remembered we had til the end of July and do get the notice when I do log in so must login tonight and see what the W10 notice says now. I guess it's personal choice but I have few if any handy advisors :-( At my age I wonder if it's necessary but good to see no really negative comments here Confused to read here about tablets with Win 10 I dont know that about mine, an Android ....a Lenovo ?

Fiona, if you have an android tablet that is Google based, my old tablet was an android. The Windows tablets came later as Microsoft decided to try to get in on the tablet market.
I know Microsoft was offering a Windows 10 link for some smartphones (mine's too old) and I had an email from them giving a link for using windows on android tablets, but that was a while ago so I might not be remembering that correctly.

Yes, most tablets are Android (operating system), or iOS (Apple iPads). I hadn't heard about a Windows 10 link for some smartphones. There are Windows smartphones also available, but less common than Android or iPhones).
