Heaven, I'm in heaven..... Wonderful programme full of heart warming tales (tails?) of cats stuck up chimneys, cats losing a leg after a fall, kittens born in the back of a shop storeroom, the difference a Maine Coone cat has made to the life of an autistic girl and a YouTube film of a man all but demolishing a room to rescue a kitten. Jo Brand was the perfect host and the stories were really involving. My herd gave it 10 out of 10.

I'm more a dog person but we all enjoyed this. The poor cat up the chimney. He seemed very quite when he came out covered in soot! And the poor cat who had his leg amputated. He seemed to cope ok and got a lovely new home.☺

I must catch up with this. I am an unashamed cat person, unable to have one in our current rented property.

It is, as Bidie said, complete cat heaven! I want to cuddle every one of them, and it is the perfect thing for cold dark nights, and scary things on tv. The dedication of that RSPCA officer when getting the cat out of the chimney! Loved it.

My cat watched it with me. He spent the whole show on my lap, facing the TV purring his head off. Reckon he thought they'd put it on just for him. We both thoroughly enjoyed it.
How dedicated was that RSPCA chap! I was a bit worried when the fire brigade tried go "wash" the cat out of the chimney.

I said "aw - bless!" so many times my Mother threw a cushion at me.
Luckily there was no cat sitting on it at the time.
Never thought of Jo as a cat - or indeed animal - person for some reason, but she was clearly in her element here.

I've tried with the dentally challenged Herd, but I think the stress it causes them makes it a waste of time. Cats can have all their teeth out and still survive quite happily. Their gums harden and in this age of soft cat food they have no probs.
Great little programme. Loved the tail-less cat and the rather chubby girl whose reaction her special diet was to scrounge her way round the neighbourhood. She got 3 pouches from the well meaning lady who thought she was pregnant.
Mum and kits in the drain at the end were wonderful. Well rescued everyone.

He used to look round the back of the tv to see where the sheep had gone.

Another good episode this week. The building site kittens - and mum - were lovely. And well done to the tree surgeon who got the stuck-for-5-days cat up a tree. I did wonder if he charged for his work? Did the RSPCA pay him, or the owner? It was not mentioned so perhaps he was as kind person who did it for free on his day off.
Loved the bit of YouTube footage at the end of the motorcycle riding female who rescued a kitten from an intersection in the US, transporting it in her helmet. Needless to say she adopted the bundle of ginger fun who rides pillion with her to this day.

New series starts on Thursday (19th) at 7 pm. This time it's called Kitten Rescue. Jo is back at RSPCA Harmsworth, where she meets a cat that survived falling four floors from a balcony. I'd love to work in an animal rescue shelter. Loved the last series. Was it really three years ago since the last one? Too long in my opinion.
