Just read David Cassidy is in an induced coma with organ failure and his family have been advised to expect the worst .... really sad to hear this as he was my idol back in the seventies but unfortunately he then went on to make some bad decisions in his life. Very strange as he went through my mind just the other day. Oh dear, looks like another one might bite the dust 😢

Oh dear. Very sorry to hear this. Back in the day girls were either for Donny Osmond or David Cassidy. For me it was always David!

Yes, or Michael Jackson. I was a David Cassidy fan too. The first single I ever bought was 'How can I be sure?' – aaah!
Very sorry to hear this. He hasn't had a good time in recent years and announced earlier this year that he is living with dementia. That wouldn't cause organ failure though, which is probably more to do with his earlier struggles with alcohol. Very sad.

Some years ago I was in a small Italian restaurant in London with a friend and we saw David Cassidy at a table with Jonathan Ross, I think David was appearing on his show. I asked the waiter if he could quietly ask if we could have their autographs, I didn’t want to embarrass them by going over. They got up from their table and came over to talk to us and were absolutely charming. A lovely memory of a nice man.

Yes, that was lovely and relatively unusual, I think. As you say, a lovely memory.

I still watch repeats of The Partridge Family every Sunday morning on a local repeat network. He played the character of Keith as a very self-effacing high school kid not completely comfortable with being a rock star. Of course wise-cracking brother Danny and his sister Laurie were always quick to wind him up.
I last saw David Cassidy on an edition of Celebrity Apprentice in 2011. It was quite odd. He looked very uncomfortable and didn't seem to want to be there (no doubt pressured by his agent to take a prime time TV job).
He was fired by the Donald after the first episode. The team task was to work in a sandwich shoppe and David kept popping out back to take cigarette breaks in the alley. One of the other celebrity team members (a career reality tv bloke) took exception and was literally physically bullying David.
Luckily another team member was a retired baseballer who stood about 6' 6" and weighed 250 pounds and had arms bigger than most people's legs. He stood up to the bully for David.
But in the board room Trump said David should have stood up for himself and his frequent cigarette breaks not only hurt the team but weren't particularly sanitary as he smelled of smoke on every return (some uncharacteristic bits of actual logic coming from the Donald.)
