The Ashes are actually on BT, they outbid Sky for the rights, much to my husband’s disgust.

Me neither. The only way I will get to follow the Ashes will be the BBC Sports website. Can't listen to TMS anymore.

I suppose they’re hoping everyone will cancel their Sky packages and sign up with BT

I suppose they’re hoping everyone will cancel their Sky packages and sign up with BT ...and if your a BT customer who hasn't signed-up to BT sport....don't worry...you're paying for BT sport anyway....check out your quarterly bill...

It’s annoying when you’re paying extra for a sports package with sky and you’re getting less and less sport.

...but there are still matches that aren’t on Sky but on BT. I don’t watch any sport but my husband is a fan and he gets very annoyed.

My brother only used to watch the wrestling which was on Sky Sports but most of the big matches like Wrestlemania, Royal Rumble etc became PPV, so the price was going up about every 3mths and he was expected to pay for the special events which were free (well included in the package) when he started to have it. They want about £15-20 per event and they have to have at least 8 events a year if not more. Then all the boxing tends to be PPV. Surely that's what your paying the subscription for. He ended up cancelling it. You can get the events on DVD to keep for a similar price.
Not even letting the news shows highlights of the game is petty. I don't know how cricket can like it. I suppose it's money, but how many people are taking up BT Sport and how many people are just ignoring the Ashes, surely it's harming the future of the sport and introducing it to younger who'll be the future of the sport.
I used to like watching the baseball on 5 but now they show a roulette wheel for 3-4hrs!They used to show the 4main US sports, I don't know if Sky have basketball, NFL you can find some UK based games on BBC2 and the super bowl, NHL is occasionally on Freesports, but MLB went to BT Sports so I never get to see that.

LIke most people I’d guess my husband has just given up on the Ashes.
