I only saw the very end of this last week whilst waiting for Vera, but was Candice all that bad? There looked to be worse. Or is she just not as popular as some?

She was pretty bad. She improved quite a lot this week. Mainly cos she had another week to practice it. Lamar had very little training as he was substituted in for Monty Panesar. And then his skater had an injury as well. So he did well to do as much as he did.

Although the audience is little seen and even less heard (it's just possible to hear the whoops and clapping) it's nowhere near as obtrusive as in SCD. BBC take note!

yh78909iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii is what happens when you drop your keyboard! Ahem.
Anyway. I'm just watching it now and I'm a bit surprised at the praise Donna Air is getting. She's really hesitant.

Not loving this series as much as previous ones. The change in format has not done it any favours. It’s still a 2 hour show regardless of how many celebs have gone, so it is filled even more with padding and ad breaks. Am watching it but am finding my mind wandering, and then realising I’ve missed the final skate! It also seems to be a fairly forgone conclusion- there’s one person who is far and away the better skater, but they are all getting similar marks. Makes no sense. Just a bit of fluffy entertainment on a Sunday

I gave up on it 2 weeks ago for much the same reasons.

I agree and Holly makes it too fluffy and ridiculous, preferred the old set and the old format when it was more entertaining and there was a more professional edge to the proceedings somehow ⛸

The one good thing about it has been Jason Gardiner being normal instead of the over-the-top, attention-seeking, insulting, obnoxious person he was in previous series.

The worst thing they did was take Torville and Dean from the 'skating' input and put them on the panel. To me it has ruined the format. also we seem to have lost props week and the hanging from the wire bit. (or will that be in the final) People also seem to be voting on popularity as opposed to skating. If Brooke hadn't been in Corrie would she have been in the bottom two?
At least in SCD talent outed popularity.

It's been on in the background but I haven't really watched properly. The rinks too small, I don't like the judging panel, the celebs are samey, too much filler with interviews, (what was that with Brooke and her granddad?!), to many ad breaks and not enough humour. And Phil and Holly together I find annoying, so all in all not a great return...havung said all that it'll probably be on in the background next week so I'll probably find out who wins!
