Has anyone been listening to Radio 4's 15-minute drama which finished today? It's set in the near future in a world where antibiotics are in such short supply that they cannot be prescribed other than in national emergencies. It follows a 10-year-old, Sarah, who scratches her knee while out playing, with devastating consequences. It's quite scary and I do recommend listening, though it is a bit odd as Sarah fantasises about Hawaii where she meets various people including Elvis Presley and Alexander Fleming! The truth about Hawaii, Sarah says, is that disaster is always waiting to happen.

Yes, I have loved it! Scarily true too, antibiotic resistance is real.
