I saw this yesterday in Wimbledon where most of the audience were in raptures over Tom Chambers! Personally I felt it rather lacked polish but it had a lot of enthusiasm. When the tour started Caroline Flack was in it but her role as TC's fiancee has been taken over by Claire Sweeney. I think she is a bit of a marmite actress but I liked her in this. I cant remember the name of the leading lady but she had a very strong voice and did well, despite some appalling costumes which did her no favours. TC himself was quite good but he does not have the strongest voice IMO.
The unusual aspect in this show is that the band is onstage throughout and is formed by the dancers and singers, so to get in this show some of them have to be a quadruple threat!!! It also means that the music is not as loud as when you have a full or medium sized orchestra belting out the songs; there are only about 20 in the whole show. So that was clever to watch and of course must keep the costs down but lost a bit of oomph.
