having been informed that you can’t get a virus on an iPad, without downloading an app, and not having downloaded anything since it was new, I am wondering if anybody else here on the board is being redirected to a page telling them they have won a prize from google?

If you google "google prize", you'll find several pages telling you it's bogus. Somehow they've got your email address/details or malware has been installed - could have been via someone's email to you from an infected computer/phone/tablet. Some of the pages will tell you how to stop it/get rid of it.

No-one else is having the problem so it must be something specific to your tablet. Tablets do use the desktop version, don't they?

I've had this a few times, on this and other sites, telling me I've won and I just need to answer some questionnaire. If it sounds to good to be true it probably is, I just shut it down and don't give them any info.

If this appears as a pop-up,when it does use the report ad link at the bottom of the page and report to proboards, they will block it.
Also take a screenshot.

I've had it a couple of times on this forum recently, too, although it claims the prize is from my broadband provider rather than Google. It hasn't happened to me on any other website.

How funny, I’ve just had a pop up telling me I’ve won a google prize ! It’s never happened before.

You all need to report it as suggested by Geoffers. It's the Support team that will need to deal with it, not the mods of this board.
