what do people think of the new drivetime show? I am very disappointed. All the humour has gone, Simon sounds sad and demoralised. I like Jo but not in this slot.

Yes, I wasn't keen when I heard it during my late turn at work last Monday. Glad they still had the confession slot though.

They do have the confession slot, but without Matt and Bobby bouncing off each other with their often polar opposite views it has become very samey and a bit School marmy. There was one of the confessions that would normally have had them all killing themselves laughing (the one with the outside toilet, the paint and the unfortunately dropped match), but it all went off very flat (unlike the toilet).

"Drivetime" -- well named, because the BBC have succeeded in driving me off! -- Not a patch on the show we loved. I used to listen whilst prepping the veg for the evening meal. Now I put on a CD instead.
Why did they feel the need to meddle with this?? Grr.

I used to switch on the minute I got in from work. Now, I put my own playlists on.

Sometimes I have to work late and usually just keep the radio on. Thought tonight was going to be ok as I think the first was Fleetwood Mac. No. No idea who they were. Don't want to listen to mindless chatter.
I put a CD on. Much better to work late with Tim Booth at full blast. Harder to work as I want to dance but I managed. Didn't close the shop door and was really shocked to see a late customer wandering around! They smiled and mimed not to turn it down.
I would rather have the radio on as I like the surprise of the occasional old record but this new programme is rubbish.
As is Saturday's radio. Does anyone listen to Alan Carr and that cackling Mel Sykes? Paul Gambaccini isn't anywhere near as good as Tony Blackburn and whoever follows is rubbish too! Saturday is definitely a CD day at work!

The Drivetime slot has not improved now that we have Sarah Cox. She is annoyingly loud and cackling, and its just not got the lovely feel it had when Simon Mayo smoothly led us along between the music and the chat.
More CDs and Radio Smooth Magic for me!!

I find I might listen to it for 20 minutes, but then if one of those silly “wind up phone calls” comes on I switch it off and see what podcasts or other radio programs are on the iPlayer, or I don’t listen to anything at all. Sometimes I’ll listen for a whole 40 minutes, but that’s about all, nothing like when Simon was on and I was glued to the radio.
