I appear to have lost the sound on my Windows 10 laptop. This happened before some weeks ago, which I mentioned in passing (ie I didn't start a thread about it) and someone very kindly suggested a way to get it back which worked perfectly.
I can't for the life of me remember what thread I mentioned it on (and have spent some time looking) so I thought it best to open a thread dedicated to the subject for easy reference if it's going to keep happening. If the kind person happens to be reading, would you please remind me of what I need to do to restore the sound.
Many thanks

Thanks pattery. That was the one. You're a star Checked accordingly, but the 3072 value was still showing from before. However it did, in turn, inspire me (well, my son) to run a check for updates. This has now been done and 4 updates were required. Anyway, I have my sound back so thanks again.
