While the idea behind the technology is interesting. I do think that the phenomenon, itself has got a bit out of hand with people playing it, and driving at the same time, forgetting how dangerous that can be, people losing their jobs, and in a couple of cases, being deported for their stupidity.
It has already been decided that, as and when it arrives officially in the UK, it will NOT be being played in our household.

I don't understand this new game - having put zero effort into finding out about it - but it seems that there are some inappropriate places - memorial sites, private homes - I foresee trouble ahead, if it continues to be popular.

I put it on my phone, a little Pokemon appeared in front of me in the living room! However, as I don't want any of us to waste endless time looking further afield, or put ourselves at risk, plus the security issue (Google have your details, may be hacked or something), I deleted it. I can understand its massive appeal and addiction, though.

i already see lots of kids playing this. walking up the street glaring into their phone. it's bad enough just seeing their ears glued to them everywere they go. but this is even worse! it's just an accident waiting to happen. i dread it if they're doing this while driving!!

In America, some have already been stopped for playing while driving, some have caused accidents. There are people who seem to take it too seriously, and not in a good way.

"A motorist is facing charges after crashing his car through a school fence and into a portable building while allegedly trying to find a Pokemon in Melbourne's outer south-east.
Victoria Police said it appeared the man was using the Pokemon Go phone app when he lost control of his car at a roundabout on Ridgemont Drive in Berwick.
The 19-year old driver was not injured in the crash which happened just before 7:00pm on Thursday.
He is expected to be charged on summons with careless driving."
the world has gone mad.

I think it's good fun, although it does clobber the phone battery. It is also surprisingly educational. I didn't realise that a local business park, for want of a better expression, had a sculpture garden. I didn't know that one of the ornate shop doorways I pass en route to work was once an entrance to an art institute (for example), or know who a particular monument commemorated. Although I haven't gone out hunting per se, it's probably had me walking more than previously. And you don't need to be right on top of a Pokémon to capture it, or to be looking at your phone all the time (you can set it to vibrate), so why people are being such eejits I have no idea.
