ITV’s new drama series Strangers will premiere on Monday September 10th at 9pm.
Strangers follows Professor Jonah Mulray, whose life is turned upside-down when his wife, Megan, is killed in a car-crash in Hong Kong.
Although she lived and worked there half the year, Jonah’s never been. He lives a small, sheltered life, and his fear of flying has kept him in London. But now he has no choice but to cross the ocean to identify the body of the woman he loved.
Not long after arriving in Hong Kong, Jonah makes a shocking discovery about his wife. Over the course of the series, Jonah is drawn deeper and deeper into a web of conspiracy as he comes to terms with this utterly alien and unfamiliar environment, battling to uncover the truth about his wife’s death.
The drama series, which was created by screenwriting newcomers Mark Denton and Jonny Stockwood, stars John Simm, Anthony Wong, Emilia Fox and Dervla Kirwan.

Also clashes with the new BBC2 drama Black Earth Rising, which I'm about to sample. I will get round to Strangers but it may be a while.

Not wishing to be picky, but if you had to go to the British Consulate and then to identify your wife's body and then on to the police station, would you not have your passport with you for identification rather than leaving it in your hotel room?

Good so far . .
Yes, he would have his passport with him. Also, under the new circumstances why did he need to go over to identify her?

There was a lot going on in this first episode. It has definite possibilities for me.
Having been involved in a collision some years ago I know what it feels like to have a vehicle coming towards you and not being able to get out of the way....that was indeed horribly realistic.

It came as no surprise that she was married to someone else. Great drama though, can't wait for next week.

It was a big surprise that she had been married for twenty years and had a daughter though! Well it was to me. I enjoyed it.

SO, why ask Jonah to go and identify the body? The authorities knew she was married and had a grown child. Why ask a "later, second" husband?

I suspect she was involved in something very dodgy and the British Consulate are interested in it. They want him over to find out what he knows so identifying her is a good excuse.

We watched and well carry on but Hong Kong looks like my idea of hell, like a massive amusement arcade.
