I've just finished watching Cobra Kai and I loved it!! It's based on the 80s film The Karate Kid and theyve got Ralph Macchio and William Zabka back to reprise their original roles of Danny Larusso and Johnny Lawrence. Larusso has a big car dealership and is doing well for himself, Lawrence not so much. Lawrence forms a new Cobra Kai dojo and all the bullied kids from the school join. One of the kids is very much the new Larusso and they play out lots of the original scenes albeit tweaked, but he's being taught by Lawrence. Lawrence son has been trained by Larusso! (Although none knows who the other is, so Larusso had no idea he'd been training Latences son and vice versa)
If you liked the movie (and I did! That's my Sunday afternoon planned) I think this will be right up your street. The last episode has the best surprise of all😨☺ (I'd watched 2 episodes already and planned on watching another 3 before bed but ended up watching all 8! It's 3:30am. Everyone needs to leave me alone at work tomorrow.😴)
All together #You're the best, around. Nothings gonna ever keep you down...#

I. Love. This show. Season 2 has dropped. The nostalgia is cranked up to 11. I find Lawrence a much more interesting and angsty character. There's also flashback clips to the original film and they use similar music at points (Bananrama). One episode also brings back Bobby and Tommy, two of Lawrence's Cobra Kai pals, they've matured. Lawrence still pines for Ali Mills thinking he'll never find what he had with her. The final episode of season 2 shows the phone he's thrown away on a beach beep and reveal a friend request from Ali Mills Schwaber (The last surname might be wrong, but she could be married). I'm wondering if this is a hint that Elizabeth Shue will turn up in Season 3 (fingers crossed for a 3rd season)

3rd season for 2020. Whoop whoop! Brilliant show, hopefully with the success of the first two it might pursuade Elizabeth Shue to join the show.

Have moved this to the Subscription board as only the first two episodes are free. Which came as a disappointment to me when I was just getting into it.
