Hmmm.... if ever a series was misadvertised, it's this one.
Judging from the first episode, this isn't sci-fi. It's a melodrama about 'feelings' set in a company trying to get to Mars. The actual mission is mere backdrop to the moody staring and mumbly dialogue. I wasn't overly impressed.
I might give the second episode a go just to see if they get anywhere near actually setting off to Mars but I'm not getting my hopes up.

It was rather slow, but excellent effects.

I wasn't too keen on them using the 'cloud' from the Challenger explosion. Bit tasteless. But there was some good tech on show. Love to know how you verbally control a car from outside though!

It's not what I thought it was going to be either.
But now I'm resigned to that, after 2 episodes I'm finding it quite entertaining as a sort of period drama. It's biggest problem for me is how dated it already is, set in the recent past when only USA state funding could mount such space missions. Nowadays it's either international co-operation like the ISS, or private enterprise sponsored by rich individuals such as Elon Musk or Richard Branson.

It's still awfully slow, and very little to do with space travel. I'm losing patience.

I only watched the first one and never bothered with the rest.

I've given up on it now. I'm finding little interest in the characters and it's become really boring.

Have they got to Mars yet? Or even took off yet?

I watched the first two this week and thought it was a bit meh. I am not a fan of Sean Penn which doesn't help and did anyone else think Natasha McElhkne's accent wavered all over the place? She sounded very Northern in a few of the scenes but Southern in others. Isn't she English? I can't understand why that would happen.

Just bad acting. She should have just used her own accent and no-one would have thought anything of it.

I've joined the general exodus! I just started watching this week's effort and decided I don't give a damn about anyone. Plus I seem to have forgotten half of the story!
