When I was young, the only place my parents could take me when it rained during holidays was the pictures ... I got to love it when it rained when we were in Edinburgh, because it meant a visit to the nearest Picture house. There was one up Lothian Road where we saw The Robe and one down the road to Leith where we saw a double feature of sword and sand B movies one was called Revolt of the Slaves set in the Rome of Nero. I remember seeing Burt Lancaster with black hair in Vera Cruz, then with blonde hair in His Majesty O'Keefe ... first time I realised men died their hair too! (Well I was young)
We don't go to the cinema very often now, so now my double features consist of watching a couple of Harry Potters or Fantasia and Fantasia 2000 ... My movies tastes are as broad as my reading.

I am *just* old enough to remember the Saturday morning pictures. When we could see two cartoons and a film for very little money. Place full of kids with barely any parents present!

I remember those. I used to go here, it was 6d (2 1/2p) to get in on a Saturday morning. Sadly, like most of the 32 cinemas we had, it is gone.
