Anyone else seen this? It's basically a remake of Aliens with bits of Blade Runner. The military characters even have the same names as the Marines in Aliens.
But it has the none of the brilliance of either film. It's pretty rubbish.

Forget to mention, there's bits of nuBSG as well. Actually I might watch it to the end as becoming a good game of Spot the Film Reference.

All the renegade humanoids are pale, fat and bald. Looks like an EDL rally!

No, nothing to do with Marvel. 'Winter' refers to the Everlasting Winter that humanity caused by doing.... something or other. I forget what. Everyone has to live underground.

Ah. Sounds awful. Underground sounds like a synonym for no budget.
There's loads of crappy films on the SyFy channel, but there's a problem with the sound on that channel, everything is too low to actually hear.
Not sure whether that's a bad thing or not.

TBF, they got around having not much budget quite cleverly. For instance, so they wouldn't have to spend money on CGI for pulse rifles and laser weapons, they filmed most of the battles in the Dead Zone, where electronic weapons don't work. Which meant they could use old-fashioned weapons like carbides and rifles. Which don't need much more money than the bang.
