I'll have to try to watch this, which starts 9.00 pm tomorrow (Wednesday) with episodes 1 & 2 of 8, after which the whole series will be available on Sky and NOW TV.
Not a remake of the 1981 naval WW2 film, but a sequel based on the same book, this is a multinational production with a huge budget. It isn't confined to the sea and Kriegsmarine sailors; there are land based plot lines too, with German and French characters speaking their own language so much of it is subtitled. Also in the cast are some British (James D'Arcy, Kevin McNally) and American (Lizzy Caplan (Masters of Sex), Vincent Kartheiser (Mad Men)) actors. Should be good - and it's already been renewed for a second series.
