ITV’s limited series The Widow will premiere on Monday April 8th at 9pm.
The Widow tells the story of Georgia Wells who has her life turned upside-down with a phone-call in the middle of the night. Her husband of over 10 years, Will, has been reported dead after a plane crash in the Congolese jungle. Three years later, with her old life now a thing of the past, Georgia learns something shocking. Something that will take her to Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, looking to uncover the truth about his disappearance.
Oblivious to the extent of the danger she faces, Georgia sets out across the country in pursuit of Will, while Martin Benson, the closest person to family Georgia has, searches for answers elsewhere.
The drama series, which hails from The Missing and Baptiste creators Harry & Jack Williams, stars Kate Beckinsale (Pearl Harbour, Underworld), Alex Kingston (ER, Doctor Who), Charles Dance (Game of Thrones, Godzilla), Ólafur Darri Ólafsson (Trapped, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald) and Louise Brealey (Sherlock, Clique).

I'm going to watch, though the basic idea seems to be unoriginal and copied from earlier European series such as Flight HS13.
I've only just noticed - so in case anyone else hasn't - The Widow is showing 2 episodes per week, Mondays and Tuesdays at 9.00 pm.

I might give it a go for the first episode. Seems obvious but you never know.

Yes I will watch this week’s episodes, and see if I want to continue. Don’t fancy the thing on BBC1

Yes, you needed to keep your wits about you, and the jumping back & forth in time didn't help. It was becoming a bit clearer by the end of the episode, but looks like there's an awful lot for us to find out yet.

The time leaps weren't all that clear were they? No helpful change of hairstyle etc as an indicator. I quite enjoyed it though. If it is the husband, how convenient he kept that orange baseball cap! And what was his job in the DRC? Is he an aid worker? For some reason I thought this was about a photographer. Anyway, I think the underlying plot is about {SPOILER:Click to Show}Blood diamonds. Which no doubt means it isn't!

I just knew when she got into that car at the end there would be a black glove there.

I just knew when she got into that car at the end there would be a black glove there. I guess she isn't going to heed the advice in the message it contained - else the series would be very short!

But if someone wants her to leave why have they hired her a car?

Maybe the message wasn't left by the person hiring the car. Or maybe the car was just to ease her passage back to the airport!

I was sitting here thinking OMG there is going to be a glove, and thinking it was going to be all, well not romantic as such but affecting, and then that rotten two word message fell out. DIsappointed!
