Watching this on the BBC iPlayer. A ground breaking series from the 1960's, much of it live, with some really scary moments that just creep up on you.

Didn't realise this was on iPlayer. I enjoyed it when originally broadcast (Dec 1958 - Jan 1959) & remember jumping out of my skin at one point! I've got the DVD box set of all 3 original Quatermass series.
I recorded, but haven't yet watched, the cinema movie of Quatermass and the Pit (1967) which was on Talking Pictures TV about a week ago. It'll be interesting to see how it compares with the TV series.

I saw the 1967 Quatermass and the Pit film in the early 1970s, I think 1972, so i would have been 12 years old and I found it really scary. Not sure if I found that or 'The Stone Tape' more creepy.
